John Witte, Owner and Chief Pilot
John got his training in 1994 at Denver Helicopters in Centennial, Colorado. A year later, he bought the business and has been a professional pilot ever since. In 2002 he moved the company to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. With over 9000 hours, and most of these flying above 6000 feet MSL, John is an experienced helicopter pilot with strong mountain flying skills and proficiency with Bell products. John has current Commercial and Commercial Flight Instructor ratings and provides Recurrency Training in a variety of helicopters.
The primary aircraft used for commercial work at Zephyr Helicopter is a BH206L-3 that operates under a Part 135 Charter Certificate from the FAA. This ship is the perfect aircraft for all types of missions in rugged mountain conditions. We also fly hunting charters with the use of a BLM permit through the Little Snake District in Northwest Colorado.
John and his skilled aircraft mechanics and ground crew make a superb team for any helicopter work in the Colorado/Wyoming/Utah area.
